(i) Narrated by Abu Musa Ash'ari The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Wearing silk and gold has been made unlawful for the males of my Ummah and lawful for their females.

(ii) He (prophet Muhammad) forbade us to use silver utensils and dishes and to wear golden rings, silk (clothes), Dibaj (pure silk cloth), Qissi and Istabraq (two kinds of silk cloths). Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 23, Number 331.
